About Jonathan Hilbrands

As a J.D. candidate at Stetson University College of Law, I am passionate about elder law, probate, and estate planning. I have been studying these topics for the past two and a half years, and I have gained valuable knowledge and skills in this field. I am also conversational in Spanish and Thai, which allows me to communicate with diverse clients and stakeholders. My interest in elder law stems from my experience watching my mother be a primary caretaker for my grandmother throughout her battle with Alzheimer's. I also have a background in social work and social policy analysis, which informs my holistic and empathetic approach to legal issues. Additionally, I have developed strong leadership and organizational skills through my work as a deputy organizing director on a presidential campaign, where I managed a team of volunteers and coordinated outreach and advocacy efforts. I was eager to apply my competencies and mission to the probate, guardianship, mental health, and trust division of the 13th Judicial Circuit, where I recently served as a judicial extern.
