About Jonathan Hill

I work in the world of natural resource law enforcement. I am mainly interested in fisheries ecology and Salmon biology as they relate to anthropogenic stressors. I obtained my BSc in Biological Sciences from Simon Fraser University where I conducted a directed studies independent research project at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre relating phytoplankton community assemblages to spatial salinity concentration gradients. I have held positions with primary fisheries regulators such as Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and the Pacific Salmon Commission. I have also worked in the private sector at Archipelago Marine Research. I am skilled in stock assessment methods, data management, organizing and supervising field staff, and report writing. I have experience delivering workshops and presentations on topics such as fish identification, sampling techniques, automated counting strategies, and special topics in conservation biology. I am knowledgeable in natural resource regulatory law as it relates to fisheries as well as assessing fisheries habitat and ecosystem values.
