About Jonathan Horn

Recently published "One City, One Shot: How I Made it in TV News Without Uprooting My Life." The book shares how I worked my way from earning $40 per article at a San Diego weekly newspaper to an on-air reporter at a major TV network affiliate, without having to bounce around the country. It's available on Amazon as an e-book and paperback and a wide range of audiobook providers. Visit linktr.ee/jonhorn In June 2022, I began an exciting new chapter in my career as a Community Relations Manager for the City of Carlsbad. I also teach in the journalism program at San Diego Mesa College. Most of my career was spent as a journalist. From 2015 to 2022, I worked as a general assignment reporter for KGTV, San Diego's ABC station. I wrote, shot, edited and produced the vast majority of my packages on daily deadline. I was also nominated for two Emmy's for my political reporting. Prior to working in TV, I was a reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune. I hold a master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
