About Jonathan Huston

I’m Jonathan Huston MLA Member for Nedlands. I was raised in WA in a middle-class family along with my five brothers and two sisters. I attended Aquinas College, before graduating from the Royal Military College Duntroon. My service included responsibilities as an Intelligence officer reaching the rank of Major including overseas postings in Canada and the United Kingdom Whilst serving, I completed a Master of Business at the University of Technology Sydney. Owning and operating a business was always my ambition. So I was fortunate to buy and lead Tintacar, Croissant Express and Parkside Towbars. I really enjoyed the challenge of growing my businesses and developing young leaders. I volunteered for several community organisations including Legacy, Red Cross and Lifelink. Over the past twenty-five years, I have owned and managed businesses across a variety of sectors, showcasing my versatility and adaptability. From retail and franchising to automotive, defence, light manufacturing and skills development, my extensive leadership roles have shaped me into a well-rounded executive leader. I am particularly passionate about maximising an organisation's potential through proven operations management, capital raising, and leadership. My career highlights include transforming Worldmark (Tint-a-Car), a local family business, into an international private corporation within just three years. Following this, I took the reins of Parkside Towbars as a majority shareholder, investing $2.3M and turning it into one of the largest towbar manufacturers and aftermarket retailers in Western Australia. Later, as Chairman and Majority Shareholder at Croissant Express, I expanded the company to 32 shops with a significant turnover. Subsequently, as the Managing Director and Owner of Training Course Experts. Before all this, my ten-year military career, involving roles such as Infantry Platoon Commander and Australian Intelligence Executive, further honed my leadership and analytical skills. My unique blend of experience across sectors, combined with my proven leadership, management and strategic planning skills, position me as a highly effective business leader. I am committed to bringing these qualities to my future ventures and continually delivering outstanding results. I am an avid hiker, which is where I relax and unwind. I’ve climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, trekked the Camino, traversed Slovenia, and Crete, plus many more adventures.
