About Jonathan Ivers

The views expressed by this account are mine and do not necessarily reflect the view of Whiting-Turner. I was born and raised in Texas and attended Fredericksburg High School. During my time in high school, one of my classes was an engineering and rocket science class which had me work with my fellow classmates to build a 14 foot rocket our junior year and a 24 foot rocket our senior year. I was also involved with a local Boy Scout group and earned my Eagle Scout rank. My Eagle Scout project consisted of landscape work and building a series of plaques for a local museum dedicated to the Pacific theater of World War 2. Following my graduation from high school in 2014, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and completed boot camp in December of that year before going on to work as a Signals Intelligence Specialist for 1st Radio Battalion in Camp Pendleton, CA. As a Signals Intelligence Specialist, I worked on communications security for radio and satellite communications. Eventually, working my way up to the rank of Sergeant, I was placed in various managerial and supervisory roles before receiving an honorable discharge after 5 years of service. After getting out of the Marines, I began attending California Baptist University and graduated in April of 2024 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dog. I am also an avid baseball fan and catch a game on tv or in person whenever possible. In the baseball offseason, hockey is used to fill the void.
