About Jonathan Jan

I am a systems-minded engineer at GM, developing and implementing solutions that enhance the efficiency and reliability of GM’s manufacturing systems, especially as GM further leverages the digital realm to facilitate its industrial processes. With a background in Industrial Engineering (M.S.E. from the University of Michigan), as well as bachelor’s degrees in Business, German and Computer Science, I thrive at the intersection of technology, operations and process improvement. My passion lies in bridging the gap between digital tools and complex operational challenges, designing and integrating systems that reconcile metrics, automate workflows, and improve operational performance across physical and digital domains. Whether working in manufacturing, healthcare, or high tech, I focus on designing solutions that don’t just work but fundamentally improve how things run.Long term, I aim to lead initiatives where software transforms complex industrial systems and drives continuous improvement at scale.
