About Jonathan Kinkade

My skills and experience are varied and somewhat eclectic. My leadership skills were honed early through scouting, where I earned the rank of Eagle Scout. My research experience began at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where I participated in many field research opportunities: Two expeditions to the Badlands to study Chalcedony vein distribution, ending with poster presentations at regional GSA meetings; A ten week partnership with the Earthscope project, an NSF program, doing seismometer reconnaissance across northern Nebraska to locate and document suitable sites for an array of seismometers; Field camp with South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, focused on geologic mapping and stratigraphy; And one month of field research in Svalbard, Norway, assisting with geophysical subsurface mapping and working on my senior thesis,"Breccia Characterization using Photogrammetry in the Billefjordan basin, Svalbard, Norway". My travel experience includes backpacking through Central America, traveling in India, geology field work in Svalbard, Norway, and completing a Thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
