About Jonathan Kneebone

An experienced leader, lawyer, advocate and strategist in social and economic justice and social change movements. Over 20 years of advocacy and senior leadership experience with NGOs, the private sector and government. An expert in building and scaling ventures, establishing and enabling collaborations, high-level networking and relationship building, improving the fairness of complex policy and legal systems, and advocating for an inclusive economy. Has deep experience in working across the private, public and community sectors, and has led an array of significant commercial negotiations, major projects, social change, policy initiatives and legal test cases (on behalf of Traditional Owners), built collaborations for change across sectors, and has worked on major community and economic development initiatives, wealth creation and economic inclusion policies and projects. A Global Fellow with the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity, holds an Arts and Honours degree in Law from the University of Melbourne, a Masters of Laws from the University of Dundee (awarded the Laszlo Gombos Prize as the top-ranking LLM student), a Graduate Certificate in Education, a board member of several organisations working respectively in the fields of mental health, the arts and community economic development, and is a member of AusNet's Stakeholder Reference Group and Energy Consumers Australia's Reference Committee. Prior to joining the First Nations Clean Energy Network Jonathan worked in the private sector with a company pioneering the growth of a circular and regenerative cleantech business.
