About Jonathan Knight

Currently an Undergraduate Student at the University of Colorado Boulder studying Astronomy, Physics, Cosmology, and various fields of Mathematics. I have a great interest in the education of STEM to young students from grades 3rd-12th and have undergone numerous teaching practices in which myself and a partner engaged in projects regarding Hydroponics and Aquaponics with the advanced 6th graders of Witt STEM Elememtary and also presented a detailed PowerPoint regarding my own studies and a couple of lessons related to some aspects of my knowledge. Nonetheless, my main career path involves the educating of the sciences and mathematics to students of any grade and I feel strongly for the future of our youth. I am now 20 years old and also looking to expand my skill set by undergoing a coding boot camp in the Summer of 2017. I also study several other subjects in my spare time such as US History, Politics, Civic Engagement, Chemistry and Geology. I look forward to earning my teaching certificates and pursuing more projects with students in the CU Teach program. As of today, I am an avid health and fitness junkie, runner, occasional biker, lifter, occasional climber, and hiker. In 2017, my main goal is to expand my hands-on capabilities. in today's economy, we need minds that can think beyond a confined circumstance. Data Analysis will be my next prioritization, then I will pick up some Computer Science skills from my father, Steven Knight. Proceeding to the Summer, it'll be time for coding. I'm confident that my activism in skill acquirement will aid in my conquest for a lively and passionate career. Now in 2018, I am again lucky to have received the opportunity to become a Learning Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder for the 3rd time. Likewise, I was also granted a work-study commitment at Sommers Bausch Observatory on CU's main campus as a lab administrator for all Astronomy classes.
