About Jonathan Lai

With over sixteen years of experience as a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, I am passionate about providing high-quality care and treatment for patients with digestive and liver diseases. At HMC, I am the deputy trainer for the gastroenterology and hepatology department, where I mentor and supervise the next generation of specialists. I am also skilled in performing advanced endoscopic procedures, such as capsule endoscopy, ERCP, EMR and ESD to diagnose and treat complex cases. In addition to my medical career, I have a creative side as a photographer of people and places. I run my own photography business, IKI Photography, and I am a member of DuPho, the Dutch association of professional photographers. I enjoy capturing the beauty and diversity of life through my lens, and I have exhibited my work in several venues. I believe that my dual expertise in medicine and art allows me to bring a unique and holistic perspective to my work and to the teams I collaborate with.
