About Jonathan McHale

I am currently a graduating senior studying Mechanical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. I transferred to Cal Poly SLO in Fall 2023, having previously attended California State University, Northridge, and Ventura College. My coursework includes a strong focus on mathematics and physics. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have a hands-on approach to mechanical engineering. My curiosity and passion for understanding how things work drive me to create, dissect, and repair various mechanical systems. From working on my truck performing major part replacements and general maintenance to fixing iPods and iPhones during high school, I have developed a knack for troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of devices, including building and fixing computers. Beyond my engineering interests, I am an avid guitar player, enjoying a variety of styles from classical to metal. I play an LTD and a Stratocaster through a Marshall tube amp, and have been playing for about three years. Staying physically active is another passion of mine. I am dedicated to weightlifting and enjoy snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. These activities not only keep me fit but also help me maintain a balanced and disciplined lifestyle.
