About Jonathan Meehan

Passionate about creating memorable, meaningful experiences for others - whether in the classroom or in the community. Currently working as a Fan Engagement Officer at Wigan Athletic, I lead the club’s primary schools engagement and experience programme, developing initiatives that connect young fans with the club in inspiring and inclusive ways. Before moving into football, I spent over eight years in education – six in mainstream primary and two in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), where I specialised in supporting children with SEND and SEMH challenges, particularly autism and ADHD. I hold a PGDip in Education Leadership and bring a strong foundation in behaviour support, confidence building and creative engagement strategies. I’m driven by the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued and inspired, whether through learning or live experiences. Previously, I also had the privilege of working as a Cast Member at Walt Disney World, where I was honoured with two Quarterly Awards in recognition of outstanding service - something I continue to strive for in every professional setting. I’m always keen to connect and share ideas with others who are passionate about fan engagement, education, youth development or creating memorable experiences.
