About Jonathan Midttun

I’m a platform and cloud engineer who enjoys building systems that run efficiently, securely, and with as little manual effort as possible. My work spans DevOps, fullstack development, and infrastructure, from design and automation to deployment and operations. My current interests are designing secure and efficient cloud native solutions, using low level languages like Rust, to maximise the utility of distributed computing without the overhead of VM runtimes. My platforms of choice are Azure and Cloudflare, with some hobby-experience using AWS and GCP (and proxmox/hyper-v for the home lab).At Bouvet, I’ve led and developed key parts of Helsedirektoratet’s Felles Språk, managing systems for national health code management (SNOMED CT, FAT API, FinnKode) using Azure, Terraform.NET, React, and Elasticsearch. I also drove Avinor’s “Min Profil” migration to Azure AD B2C (Entra ID) with.NET Core, Kubernetes, and custom OpenID Connect policies.Earlier, at Sopra Steria, I worked on enterprise automation and platform reliability for Oslo kommune, helping modernize services supporting over users.Certified Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, and ITIL 4 Foundation. Comfortable with Docker, Terraform, Cloudflare, most Azure compute services, and I am always looking for smarter ways to connect code, infrastructure, and people.
