I am an experienced European and UK Patent Attorney in J A Kemp’s biotech practice group. With over 9 years experience at leading EP patent firms, I specialize in intellectual property protection in biotechnology and life sciences, serving clients including 10x Genomics, Guardant Health, Karius Diagnostics, Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), and Amgen.My practice focuses on European patent prosecution and oppositions at the EPO, managing both offensive and defensive cases. I have extensive expertise in DNA sequencing assays (including single-cell analysis and liquid biopsy assays), bioinformatics workflows, CAR-T cell therapies, peptide therapeutics, antibodies, biomarkers, and cell culture systems.I hold a Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry and a DPhil in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. During my doctoral research, I was instrumental in establishing and operating a high-throughput DNA sequencing facility in Oxford’s Biochemistry Department. My research integrated transcriptome-wide analysis with individual gene studies to identify post-transcriptional regulatory pathways across diverse cell lines, highlighting their prevalence. I was also awarded the BTP Fellowship in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Pembroke College.Passionate about protecting groundbreaking innovations, I combine my scientific and legal expertise to navigate complex intellectual property challenges in the life sciences sector.
