My professional journey: General Accounting Trainee -> Audit Manager -> Risk Consulting & Forensic Manager -> Forensic and Finance Consultant Today I am Head of Finance at Shelley Capital Management LLP (SCM), a wealth management firm. I lead and motivate a team of 3 fund accountants in the provision of investment reporting and general accounting services to family offices, high-net-worth individuals, pension funds and SMEs with over £3bn of assets under management, and income in the tens of millions, covering equities, bonds, property, hedge funds and alternatives. Through my strategic financial and project management, accounting and audit fieldwork, and report drafting, whilst working at Big4, Top10 and boutique accounting firms, I have contributed towards successful outcomes on numerous high profile accounting investigations (e.g, the UBS rogue trader matter), special audits (for companies including Tesco, RBS and Worldpay), covid-19 business interruption cases (for Hiscox and Axis), and compliance assignments (for banks including HSBC and Santander). Having helped grow and make profitable SCM’s investment reporting and accounting divisions (AUM grown five-fold, revenue more than doubled, from loss-making to profitable in the last nearly 3 years), I am now looking actively for a new role where I can build on my skills and experiences gained to date and in which I can help add meaningful value.
