About Jonathan Nickell

I have always enjoyed finding solutions to problems. I always try to find the simplest solution first. When the simple option does not resolve the issue, I love thinking outside of the box to find new and creative solutions. It is this love or problem solving that lead to my choice to become an engineer. I began my college studies in the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Kentucky. After a year in the Mechanical Engineering program I switched majors to the Mining Engineering program. I have always supported and believed in the mining industry, and the Mining Engineering program presented new and unique challenges that I could enjoy. Throughout my time at college I worked in order to pay my and my wife’s expenses. I worked for Valvoline Instant Oil change for my first two years of school where I gained experience performing routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles. I was then fortunate to find an internship with ECSI, LLC. Here I gained experience
