About Jonathan Oconnell

I joined the Firm as a trainee accountant in 1993, sat and passed the FAE in 1995 and qualified in 1996 as a Chartered Accountant. I then transferred to PwC Toronto for a tour for a number of years, specialising in the mutual funds industry and returned to Dublin 1998. I was admitted as a partner in 2006. I have worked exclusively in the Irish firm’s asset management practice since then, assisting clients in the structuring and audit of a wide range of international funds administered in Dublin. My clients include leading US, UK and European Fund managers who have either Dublin domiciled funds or funds administered in Dublin. They include a wide range of UCITS funds which are distributed globally and a large number of alternative funds which are sold to qualifying investors. In addition to my client portfolio I also act as Firm's Asset Management risk management partner and since 2012 I have been the Global Chair of the PwC IFRS Industry Accounting Group. I have served on a number of Irish Funds Industry Association (IFIA) committees and acted as Chair of the Irish Funds Industry Association Technical committee for a number of years.
