In my Career I have had the opportunity to work with many things. I have had the opportunity to design control systems using PC Boards and discreet components as well as using Siemens PLC for Machine control. Using the PLC I have done everything from providing a command signal for hydraulic tension control to using VFD's to control a simulated deck. I have programmed the PLC for Motion control using steppers for multi axis control. I have been responsible for calibration of all the instrumentation used in a cable testing laboratory. These items include force calibration of load cell ranging from 10 lbf to 400k lbf using class A transfer standards. Displacement Sensors ranging from LVDT to String Pots. Temperature using Xitron thermocouple simulator. Coordinating with Calibration labs for the calibration of other instrumentation and measuring devices. I have had the opportunity to work with venders to procure instrumentation to obtain new capabilities. Work with vender to develop Data Aquisition systems and continued calibration of these systems. I have been instrumental in acquiring High voltage equipment used for testing MV cables. I have traveled to the venders to discuss requirements and delivery times. I have been instrumental in the testing MV cables running HiPot testers, IR testers, as well as PD equipment.
