About Jonathan Phillips

I have two children Archie and Ellie-Jae and married to the gorgeous Lisa Phillips, my best mate dad and my Marvelous mum, one sister, whom has three daughters, aka three nieces and my mother-in-law Chris and father-in-law graham. I love my family and love to socialise with my family. I have over 25 years working experience within local government in economic development, business and enterprise, employment, skills and training, external funding, European policy and regeneration. Over the last 10 years I have been leading on delivery of a programme called "Get Oldham Working"​. The programme employs over 40 staff delivering employer engagement, the National Careers Service, Skills Support for Employment, JETS, and most recently the RESTART contract, which the government has commissioned to help of people back into work subject to the impact of #covid-19. In January 2023 I was promoted as Head of Service (Employment and Skills) to continue to lead on the GOW programme, while also working on more strategic goals to improve outcomes for Oldham residents. In my fourth and final year as a trainee psychotherapists with MIP (Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy), have passed my clinical competencies, completed over 400 hours of clinical practice with clients- and passed as fit to practice! I am very proud of the fact I played for Manchester United until I was 19 and it is always a good topic of conversation, however unless you ask, I won't be talking about it, well I might! Goal for the next ten years is to continue to develop the Get Oldham Working programme to create some form of sustainability, smash the golf with Oldham, Hassra and others, continue to support Santos u13s with the support of my dad and parents and continue to spend quality time with my family & friends, sister, mum and all, and develop Jās psychotherapy business! But ultimate goal is to ensure date night with my wife is kept Priority one!#loveugorgeous
