Jonathan Pickett is an Emmy-nominated creative producer & documentary director. His work has been released through The New Yorker, GQ Magazine, New York Times, The Atlantic, ALTER, Short of the Week & Vimeo Staff Picks. His documentaries focus on well-observed stories happening in real time, captured with a sense of intimacy and playfulness. His forthcoming feature documentary is supported by a grant from Sundance Institute x Sandbox Films, and won the 2024 BendFilm: Basecamp pitch. His projects have premiered at renowned film festivals like Tribeca, Seattle, Austin, Mountainfilm, Palm Springs & HollyShorts — where his latest project won “Best Shot on 16mm Film.” Jonathan is a recipient of the Stept Film Fund; won the NewNarratives grant from NewFilmmakers LA; and is a Windrider Institute fellow. His short documentary "Chicken Stories" won the jury prize for Artistic Vision at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, after which it was acquired by The New Yorker and selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
