About Jonathan Richardson

Jon has practiced family law and civil litigation since he was called to the Bar in 2007. Jon practiced with an Ottawa law firm from 2007-2020 and founded Richardson Hall LLP in January 2021. Jon has argued cases throughout the Eastern region of Ontario and Toronto, including appeals at the Court of Appeal. Jon has been involved in his profession throughout his career. Jon has twice served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Bar Association and has been on the OBA's governing Council since 2013. He also currently sits as a member of the Family Law Bench & Bar committee in Ottawa. He is a frequent speaker at CPD events and has twice organized "How to do a Family Trial", a 2-day event where participants learn the theory behind trial advocacy and then get to argue a trial before a Superior Court judge. Jon is the founder of the Ottawa Lawyers Feed the Hungry program, which has raised over and served over meals to Ottawa's neediest residents. For his work in this positions Jon was recognized by the Carleton County Law Association with the 2017 Gordon F. Henderson Award, a recognition for outstanding community involvement by a lawyer.
