About Jonathan Ricks

Joined the US Navy in April of 2011. Completed Operations Specialist “A” School in August of 2011. Checked onboard the USS Barry (DDG-52) in September of 2011 and served there until March of 2016. While onboard the USS Barry I gained all basic qualifications in order to serve onboard a destroyer. I was qualified as Surface Warfare Coordinator and Anti-Submarine Warfare Coordinator. Additionally I became Helmsman qualified for destroyer class ships. Nominated as Junior Sailor of the Year 2015. Departed the Barry in March of 2016 and checked into my new duty station Missile Warning Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado. While stationed in Cheyenne Mountain having qualified as Strategic and Theater Technician. I was upgraded to Crew Chief in June of 2017, then moved down to day staff in November of 2017 where I took over as J33 Training POC, scheduling officer, and COMSEC Responsibility Officer. Awarded 2017 Junior Sailor of the Year for USSTRATCOM. Additionally awarded Top 3 NCO’s in Colorado Springs Area for the month of August in 2017. Now stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK where I assumed the role of LCPO (Leading Chief Petty Officer) in Charge of 22 sailors who conduct the TACAMO mission 24/7. Also the Top Secret Control Officer for SCW-1 command.
