I am deeply committed to fostering environmental sustainability through technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Driven by the conviction that technology holds the key to effective decarbonization, this led me to a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, focusing on pioneering zinc recycling technologies, and co-founding Zincovery alongside Prof. Aaron Marshall.As the CEO of Zincovery from its inception, I have led my team with determination and adaptability. My key achievements include: • Strategically steering an early-stage pivot to align with market needs.• Leading two oversubscribed capital raising rounds, fueling our growth and innovation.• Recognised as the KiwiNet Breakthrough Innovator of 2022• Scaling our technology by from laboratory to pilot, proving the technology's scalebabilityOur journey and my leadership have been recognized by Zincovery’s largest investor, Icehouse Ventures, which noted: “Since our initial investment in 2020, we have seen Jono skillfully pivot the company, and manage both technical and personnel issues, maintaining composure in difficult situations and making sound decisions.
