About Jonathan Ruffner

I am a 24-year Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer, Facilities management professional and proven leader. I am in the process of transitioning out of the service. My experience in the military has been diverse, challenging and extremely rewarding. I began as a Damage Controlman specializing in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and firefighting. I also spent time as a subject matter expert in my field reviewing and writing organizational policy, planning, and executing emergency response exercises for large teams, and providing expert assessment and feedback to senior level management. As a Test Engineer, I earned my COR II certification and provided contract oversight during the construction phase of 3 of the Coast Guard's newest Flag Ship National Security vessels as part of a $5.6 billion acquisition contract. Finally, my drive and superior leadership skills led me to seek ways to increase my ability to have an impact across the organization through ascension to the officer corps. Ultimately, I was selected for promotion to the officer corps as a Materials Maintenance Chief Warrant Officer where I specialized in facilities management and contract oversight. As a Facilities Engineer and senior leader, I managed a diverse team comprised of both civilian and active duty personnel responsible for supervising, planning and performing all aspects of maintenance, and provided contract oversight and services for over $160 million in infrastructure including office buildings, warehouses, and industrial production facilities.
