About Jonathan Saah

Jonathan completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology Management at Ryerson University and went on to work in a variety of IT-related positions for a number of companies including Johnson & Johnson Medical Products, Esso Imperial Oil, and Kraft Canada. He later became a Market Information Analyst with the international development organization World Vision, a position which sparked a passion in him for helping economically challenged communities. Based on his experience and background in business and research, Jonathan sought out a career change that would allow him to serve communities in need. He obtained a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies (MAES) at the University of Waterloo, where his research focused on local economic development. Jonathan has held positions at Millier Dickinson Blais, an economic development consultancy based in Toronto, South Central Enterprise Region and the City of Prince Albert in Saskatchewan. In his current role as a Business Development Specialist for Sturgeon County, Jonathan prepares analytical reports and implements strategies that have a positive impact on the growth of core sectors within the region. Some notable projects he has led include an Industrial Assessment Study that outlines strategic directions for industrial development and sector profiles that promote the County’s industry clusters such as integrated energy, manufacturing and value-added agriculture. Jonathan received a County Ambassador Award for promoting the region’s development opportunities in 2011. He presently serves as the Chair of the Greater Edmonton Economic Development Team and a Board Director for Change for Children Association.
