About Jonathan Speier

Born in South Africa and lived, studied, and worked in Brazil, the United States and throughout Europe. Academically and professionally dedicated to the theoretical and practical approaches to sustainable development, tourism, international marketing and strategy, and intercultural negotiations. As a professor, taught a variety of courses at numerous universities in the USA, including USC, and in Brazil, including the Fundação Getulio Vargas. As a professional, created and administered globalization projects to introduce and expand business organizations into the international marketplace. Held leadership positions in both the business and government sectors (including Native American Tribes) formulating, implementing, and managing strategic plans and policy, and leading intercultural negotiations to identify and form collaborative relationships and strategic alliances. Held various advisory and administrative board positions including Director for the Foreign Trade Chambers of Commerce Federation, a member of the Business Council of Tourism and Hospitality of the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism, and a member of the Permanent Forum of Strategic Development for the State of Rio de Janeiro.
