About Jonathan Tan
Began work as a geotechnical engineer in a local company upon graduation from the Civil Engineering Faculty at the National University of Singapore. Proceeded to work as a Secondary School Teacher teaching Design & Technology and Mathematics after graduating from the National Institute of Education. Started my foray/adventure in the social service sector on 1 November 2001, first as a youth worker then as a caseworker, managing young male adult probationers (aged from 16 to 19 years old) in an institutionalized facility called Bukit Batok Hostel under the purview of Teen Challenge Singapore till end of June 2007. Did a brief stint as a Medical Social Worker with Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Have been and still is acquiring skills in the provision of casework and counseling services within Sembawang Family Service Centre since 11 February 2008.
