About Jonathan Velazquez

As a Library Associate, I help lead and manage branch operations, supporting circulation, collection development, and public programming. With over three years of experience in library services, I specialize in reference assistance, volunteer coordination, and adult/young adult programming. I am proficient in library systems and technologies, including Polaris/LEAP, Library IQ, Simply Reports, and SAM, which I utilize for cataloging, circulation management, and statistical reporting. Additionally, my background in database management and digital engagement allows me to enhance the library’s online resources and user experience. I am currently pursuing my Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree at San Jose State University, with a focus on Emerging Technologies. I am passionate about learning new trends and technologies in this field, and applying them to my current role. My goal is to advance my career in the Library and Information Science field, and to contribute to the mission and vision of the City of Riverside Library.
