I bring over 27 years of IT experience, with a strong focus on information security, to my role at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. I lead the charge in shaping and executing security strategies that safeguard our organization’s information resources. This involves overseeing our Information Security Compliance program, guiding assessments across business, clinical, and infrastructure areas, and conducting risk evaluations for both internal systems and external partnerships. When security incidents arise, I take the helm in planning our response, investigating what happened, working with legal and insurance teams, and digging into root causes to strengthen our defenses and protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data. I partner with senior leaders to ensure our security efforts support both business and clinical goals, offering practical advice that balances cyber risks with the flexibility needed to keep operations running smoothly. I also manage a small, dedicated team of security professionals, encouraging a mindset of vigilance and growth to keep our security posture strong and forward-looking. In my role, I’m constantly refining our security strategy to adapt to evolving business needs while keeping critical assets safe and supporting secure expansion. I built and now oversee the hospital’s information security program, ensuring we meet healthcare standards like HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulations. I handle security risk assessments—spotting vulnerabilities, suggesting fixes, and documenting everything, including how third parties measure up to our standards. I’ve established and enforce clear security policies, aligning them with industry best practices and legal requirements, while making sure our staff understands and embraces them through ongoing education.
