About Jonathan Watkins

I have had the pressure of going to Northwest Lineman College and picking up a few skills while in school. While growing up I was the youngest of five kids. I had the privilege of growing up with about an acre of land in the desert and we started a garden in our backyard. I learned about digging up the soil and replacing it with fertilizer. I had the opportunity to gain experience taking care of the plants and how to work with my hands at a young age. Before I got to high school, I had a couple jobs working for my neighbors and my family doing yard work. I also had the opportunity through high school to work as a ranch hand and work for a furniture company. I ended up joining the Army less than a year after high school. While in the Army, I was trained in the importance of working as a team to get things done, and how you're only as strong as your weakest link. When I went to AIT (Advanced Individual Training), I learned how to use a multimeter and how electricity works. I also learned the importance of safety while working with electricity. Since joining my unit, I have gain experience and skills such as working on and driving HUMVs and LMTVs, and how to work on some generators. Since then, I still do odd jobs and tree trimming for my parents and others who hire me for yard work. I enjoy hard labor and can't wait to get started in my career.
