About Jonathan Weiner

I studied music in college and finished my BA in music studies at William Paterson, graduating Summa Cum Laude in May 2012. My major instrument of study is piano. In addition, I love to sing, and was a member of the William Paterson University Choir, the William Paterson Chambers Singers, and the William Paterson Men's Ensemble. My performing experiences include Mozart's "Coronation Mass," Handel's "Messiah," Stravinsky's "Symphony of Psalms," and a performance of "Carmina Burana" with orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City as a member of the William Paterson University Choir. I currently sing with the adult choir at St. Phillip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook, NJ, and I occasionally accompany the children's choir there as well. I studied Piano Pedagogy at William Paterson, and am currently teaching piano privately. At the moment, I am looking for additional students to teach in the fall. In high school, I attended the Vocal Institute summer program at Westminster Choir College for five years, and was selected for the Music Educators of Bergen County All County Choir and New Jersey Music Educators Region I Choir. I am interested in joining a community choir in the North Jersey area. Non-musical work experiences include working at the Forum School, a school for behaviorally-challenged students as assistant to the music teacher, and teacher's assistant in a general, special-ed classroom. From 2006 to 2008, I participated in a work study program at the JFK Medical Center where I learned how to use several computer programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. I am currently working on a project at St. Phillip the Apostle Church where I'm using my data entry skills to computerize the database of the parish. I am interested in finding additional work in data entry, or work in the field of music.
