About Jonathon Caskanette

My several years of experience as an Operations Supervisor at Maplegrove, and as a Supervisor with the Cage with the OLG has placed me in constant contact with people. This has allowed me to develop and maintain effective leadership, customer service, written communication, verbal communication, team work, and conflict resolution skills. I am well respected by the staff and praised for my knowledge, calm demeanour, respectful nature, and ability to cope with stressful situations. My continual hard work and dedication directly contributed to me receiving an annual Opal Award, the highest accolade one can receive within the OLG, in 2010. My experience as a Site Auditor for Ontario Lottery and Gaming affords me strong MS Excel, analytical, investigative, and problem solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail. As a compliance based role, I used these skills to assist my site in remaining compliant with the Internal Controls mandated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and the Gaming Control Act. I also assisted in streamlining processes for the department; generally through the creating of analytical tools in Excel; skills which I continue to use in my current role. I was well respected by my Manager, and my peers; many of whom looked to me for assistance with problems as they arose. I regularly took on additional projects outside my regular duties and I was often recognized for my hard work and ability to rise to new challenges. In order to facilitate the needs of the site, I learned to program in Structured Query Language and Visual Basic; skills which I used to create an extensive database of our customer base for the purpose of in house analytics, as well as an Excel based heat map of the Gaming Floor, which was used as the basis for the strategic plan for the 2016 fiscal year. Through my education I have gained insight into the legal system and developed skills pertaining to analytical thinking, research, communication, compliance, and investigations. It has afforded me knowledge and experience with various laws that pertain to investigations and a working knowledge of legal research. I am trained on the principles of ethical reasoning, investigative techniques, and conflict management. I continue to educate myself, having completed a JavaScript Programming Complete online course earlier this year, and I am partway through a C# Bootcamp. I have also enrolled in several other online course, all related to computer sciences.
