About Jonathon Heide

I'm a motivated communicator, marketer and writer who influences and mentors in several roles. I have always been a lifelong learner who responds well to criticism. Wherever I go, I seek to build teams with shared values and hard work. For years, I've worked as a university educator and online course builder who emphasizes equity and stresses real-world digital media skills blended with a perspective on history that counters some technological progression narratives. Along with teaching digital marketing, media and publishing, I have held several positions within professional communications: a magazine editor, a marketing content manager, a staff writer, a technical communicator, a proposal/grant developer, a book editor, a web editor and more. Two projects that have been energizing me lately include Saleforce lead generation, communications within athletic communities and environmental communications. My focus on running opened doors to be a marathon analyst for one of the largest marathons in the nation. My focus on the environment (specifically urban forestry) motivated me to become a certified arborist, working with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and countless property owners throughout the Metro.
