About Jonathon Reece

I am currently a Senior studying Civil Engineering with an expected graduation date of May 2024. I am a part of our Engineering Ambassadors and CEMent programs. I am pursuing a Minor in Leadership Studies as well. This has led to a handful of opportunities on campus. Being a "Class Leader", I served as an Instructor for our Intro to Leadership Class. I facilitated small group discussions, led active-learning exercises, created a safe learning community, and performed administrative functions. Outside of school I have had a variety of jobs. I love being outside and around other people which led to me working at Camp Tekakwitha (Williamsburg, KS) the past 3 summers. This was a unique and challenging journey. Working with a large group of kids every week increased my time management and problem-solving skills. My “middle-management” position required quick decision making. My time at Lochner as an Aviation Intern has expanded my engineering experience. I was involved with the inspection, planning, design, and final reports on multiple airfield improvement projects. While most of my work consisted of designing on Civil 3D, I was also tasked with overseeing geotechnical and surveying work, managing communication between our office and clients, summarizing work into an engineering design report, and going on site for inspections.
