About Jonel Ortiz

I've been in many different fields throughout my employment history (12 years). I've done countless volunteering at various parks, organizations and events, most recent at the veterans hospital in Biloxi MS. My most recent career in the military required me to learn nearly all aspects of Meteorology and Oceanography. I had to understand atmospherics, solar/lunar patterns, clouds and many other natural sciences. More importantly I was force to be a critical thinker, a problem solver and result oriented worker. Deadlines where extremely important, and my number one priority on the daily. During Hurricane Irma, Jose, and Maria, I was the Chief Marine Meteorologist supporting the U.S.S Iwo-Jima while she executed disasters relief missions.I am no stranger to stressful situations and breath taking pressure. I do not plan of pursuing Meteorology as i complete my military service but i did gain valuable skill from my experiences.
