About Jong Min Moon

I am a UX strategist, professor, researcher, and founder with one mission: to structure clarity within complexity by designing systems, education, and experiences that empower people. For over two decades, I have led Monochrome Corp, a UX/UI agency I founded to deliver strategic design across public and private sectors. While advancing human-centered transformation through data-driven and inclusive UX, I realized that building systems is not enough. We must redesign how people learn to design within complexity. This realization led to the creation of the UX Constellation Model, a cognitive, multidimensional framework that integrates eight critical domains: data, AI, business strategy, interaction, aesthetics, technology, inclusivity (DEIA), and user psychology. It redefines UX not as a linear process, but as a constellation of interconnected strategic thinking, human meaning, and systemic exploration. To bring this model into practice, I authored UX Strategy Lab, a scenario-based workbook for nonlinear UX education that helps learners combine strategy, experimentation, and creative cognition. I currently teach this framework in the Department of Visual Design, College of Content Design at Hansung University, guiding students through real-world projects and strategic UX thinking. I also serve as the official field writer for UX/UI in Korea’s National Competency Standards (NCS), contributing to the creation of national job and education frameworks for UX professionals. Academically, I am a graduate researcher at IDAS (Hongik University), affiliated with the Creative Leadership & Branding Lab (CLAB) under the supervision of Professor Cathy Lee. I have published two KCI-indexed papers on nonlinear UX curriculum design and the UX Constellation framework, proposing new educational strategies for addressing complexity in UX thinking. Currently, I am preparing a submission to an SCI-indexed international journal to expand the UX Constellation Model as a globally applicable, cognition-based design strategy framework. My goal is to share this Korea-born methodology with the global academic and professional UX community. Whether in the classroom, research lab, studio, or policy room, I remain focused on a single vision: to build ecosystems where strategy, cognition, and humanity converge in design.
