About Jonty Tshipa

I am armed with more than 25 years’ combined experience in Wealth Planning, Project Management, Business Analysis, General Management, Growth Strategy, Audit, Risk and Consulting as well as a diverse educational background in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management and Finance & Investment. I have international exposure having worked in countries such as DRC, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia on short term expatriation assignments. A seasoned professional who has worked in almost all sectors of the economy such as Education, Utility, Mining, ICT, Financial Services and Media, during which time I gained invaluable experience in business case development, compiling financial due diligence, conducting business process re-engineering, financial risk management such as letter of credit and hedging, vendor management, strategy formulation and development using established tools such as PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces and Scenario Planning. In addition, I am an astute highly regarded individual with an excellent reputation and successful track record in corporate governance. As a proponent of corporate governance, I continue to write extensively on the topical subject and have published two articles on reputable international journals. I am a board member currently serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director of South African Weather Services (SAWS) and ZADNA, and serve as Strategic Committee Chairman and Technical Committee Chairman, respectively. I also serve on the Audit & Risk committee as well as HR & Remuneration committee of SAWS. I have an uncanny affinity for figures and well-versed in most financial matters. I am also a B-Tech Part-Time Lecturer (offering evening classes) at Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria campus.
