About Joon Cheong

A detail oriented, collaborative, and responsible engineer brings five years of experience in analytical, problem-solving, and optimizing the plastic compounding process. Aligning cross-functional teams to work toward the KPIs with a transparent communication. Translating internal and external issues into the opportunity and improving using DMAIC approach. I began my career as a chemist, where I learned analytical tools and how to translate the real-life problem into a technical language. Then transitioned into the current role managing/improving raw materials and formulations for four PVC/PET compounding plants at North America. I’ve quickly learned of additives and technology used to support technical needs from the business and manufacturing. I enjoy problem solving/reasoning and that's what I do everyday. It's fascinating to face different situations, issues, and stories. When I work on issues, I like connecting missing dots based on data and predictions. Test the hypothesis and take a holistic approach to find the cause and corresponding solutions. That's why I am a strong believer that getting correct information and connect them are the key to the successful improvement and problem solving.
