About Joost Adriaanse

Joost Adriaanse is currently working as a Senior Technical Consultant for TNO. He graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1989. His background is Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Working for Logica for over seven years he gained knowledge on telecom platforms. After he joint the Dutch telecom operator KPN in 1998 he work for ten year as architect consultant where he was responsible for the implementation of value added services platforms, the InternetPlusBellen (IPB) VoIP service and design of the IMS platform. Joost started as developer and designer of large scale service platforms for telecom providers. As architect Joost was responsible for the service enabling platforms and service innovation of KPN (e.g. of voice response based services like mass calling, voicemail and voice recognition). Joost has extensive knowledge on 3rd party access technologies and large scale real time IP services. At TNO (from 2008 onwards) Joost was involved in many (EU) research projects and consultancy work. Joost has worked on Data Retention and Lawful Intercept projects, performed audits on the implementation and management of complex IT platforms. He was technically responsible in large-scale migration projects in which millions of telecom customers were successfully migrated. Currently Joost is active on EU projects related to application of AI algorithms and the development of intelligent, adaptive and autonomous IoT and Cyber Physical Systems (CPS). Joost is able to apply his extensive knowledge and experience on the development of architectures, communication and data processing infrastructures and (model based) design for the implementation of large scale platforms and systems in new evolving fields of IoT/CPS/AI (e.g. in smart energy grids, smart industry and autonomous driving) and sovereign data sharing (IDS, Gaia-X). Joost is a fast learner and very analytical, which helps him to solve problems in complex and large-scale infrastructures.
