About Jordan A.

Jordan Anderson is a graduate of Texas A&M University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife & Fisheries with an emphasis in Wildlife Ecology and a minor in Ecology & Conservation Biology. Going on camping trips to Crater Lake National Park and Mt. St. Helens piqued her interest in wildlife during her childhood. She finished a summer internship program at Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch in Pilot Point, Texas, where she learned about animal behavior and dietary needs. One of Jordan’s most notable accomplishments at Sharkarosa was designing an intern project after learning about enrichment and creating origami treat poppers for the skunk, primates, and macaws. Jordan was involved in the Corps of Cadets, Texas A&M Zoological Society, and Aggie Judo Club. She was the Athletics Officer for the D-1 Devils, led 40 cadets in physical training, and organized intramural games for flag football. Jordan worked for Texas A&M AgriLife as an undergraduate teaching assistant and transported students to the outdoor lab sites, supervised them for activities, and maintained laboratory equipment. She enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at outreach centers and animal shelters. The most significant thing Jordan has learned from the Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management program is the importance of networking with wildlife professionals to build relationships to secure career opportunities and internships after graduation. Jordan is adept at identifying issues, providing multiple perspectives, and discovering viable solutions for natural resource leadership. She exemplified proactivity, and dedication and took initiative during her internship at Sharkarosa and ensured every guest had a great experience during their animal encounters. Jordan is well-disciplined, adaptable, and resourceful during her leadership roles in the Corps of Cadets. She is generous, donates her clothing to outreach programs, and exemplifies selfless service to give back to the community. Jordan is looking forward to a future in wildlife conservation and hopes to positively impact the community.
