About Jordan Ankersen

My primary research and professional interests lie in the field of clinical biomechanics and range from development of new devices and tools to development of computational tools for clinical biomechanics applications. I am experienced working in a fast-paced environment requiring quick adaptations and responses to new or challenging tasks. I hope to continue utilizing my diverse skillset and background to expand our knowledge as it relates to orthopedics and rehabilitation, as well as to increase the testing modalities, wearable devices, and assistive devices available to patients. I have experience collecting and analyzing a wide array of biomechanical data using motion capture, force platforms, EMG, and other technologies. Additionally I am experienced in study design for a wide range of applications including comparative biomechanics, orthopedic biomechanics, and sport biomechanics. I have also gained experience in lab design, data management, and system management and maintenance. I received my PhD in Biomedical Engineering with a specialty in Biomechanics at Texas A&M University. I am a member of the Biomechanical Environments Laboratories in the J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, and I have transitioned from a Graduate Research Fellow to a Clinical Research Engineer in Orthopedic Biomechanics at Houston Methodist.
