About Jordan Busard

With over a decade of experience in robotics and automation, my journey began in middle school through the VEX Robotics Competition and continued through my mechanical engineering studies at Purdue University with the VEXU program. From early on, I gravitated toward hands-on learning—building, testing, and iterating designs—eventually developing into a deep passion for computer-aided product development and the engineering process.In high school, I helped grow our robotics club and led the team to qualify for the VEX World Championship multiple times. At Purdue, I was proud to contribute to the expansion of the Purdue SIGBots club, evolving it from a small, tight-knit, but promising group into a successful and highly competitive organization.Today, I channel that same passion as a Design Engineer at Whallon Machinery, Inc—just minutes from where I grew up. I strive to push the boundaries of mechanical design, creating custom machinery optimized for real-world performance and customer needs.Coming full circle, I now mentor the same robotics club that shaped my early years. Guiding middle and high school students through the engineering process is one of the most fulfilling parts of my career, and I’m proud to help foster the next generation of innovators.
