Background
About Jordan Henry
I am very passionate toward the field of Engineering and helping to build a more sustainable future for the world. I am currently in my final year of study in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney. During my time at University I have gained a wide variety of technical and transferable skills that I have applied in theory and in practice. Technical skills I have gained include programming, MATLAB and SolidWorks. Transferable skills I have gained include communication, critical thinking and teamwork. I work well individually and enjoy building strong friendships through group work and interactions with clients. I am particularly interested in Mechatronics and am currently completing an internship with UTS:Rapido. In this position I am currently specialising in the improvement of existing mechatronic systems within the company such as optimising the efficiency of 3D printers, with the future intent to use research and development to launch new mechatronic systems. My past experience in the field of Mechatronics involves 10 months working at Windtech in Bexley. During my time in this company I implemented new machinery to replace manual labour in this workplace. These included a one-meter squared CNC Foam cutter and a four-meter squared plotter. This involved connecting the machinery to the user interface by programming and configuring the electrical components involved in these systems. I am also a Mechatronics tutor at the University of Technology Sydney, teaching about the fundamentals of programming with FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) electronic chips and Microcontrollers, using a graphical and C code programming languages respectively. My hobbies include Competitive Endurance Running, Competitive Swimming and Cycling. I also enjoy working on mechatronics projects such as 4x4x4 LED Cube controlled with an Arduino Microcontroller, navigation robots and self-reconfigurable robots used in Green Manufacturing.
