About Jordan Howells

I am an investment officer at Woodsford, with a focus on ESG litigation funding, having practised as a barrister representing companies, individuals and organisations in respect of ESG failures in investigations, negotiations and settlements arising from the jurisdictions of the Multilateral Development Banks, much of which was often carried out in tandem with ongoing inquiries and obligations arising from prosecutorial bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and the Serious Fraud Office. In addition to work in litigious settings, I have managed projects undertaking advisory work reviewing the substance and adequacy of integrity compliance programmes, policies and strategies for business ethics of multinational, multi-billion dollar companies. Summary of experience - Barrister (since 2008): specialising in the laws of the international organisations (i.e. UN, NATO and the World Bank); investigations into bribery, fraud and corruption and workplace misconduct (including at the Serious Fraud Office); ABC and regulatory compliance advisory; and as a litigation funder, managing deal origination, and legal and financial analysis of opportunities in civil litigation, international arbitration and class actions- Founder (since 2020) of – a growing online start-up B2C retailer helping established brands to fulfil their ESG commitments- Filmmaker (since 2012): developing and making independent scripted film (development, fundraising, production), and Channel 4-trained investigative journalist and Associate/Assistant Producer for C4 and BBC.
