About Jordan Parker

Constantly contemplating if I should provide full attention to my hair business or go to school, I finally made the decision to take on life as a second grade reading coach, part time student, and hairstylist all in one. Shortly before graduating, I was accepted into Leap Year, a year-long paid program for high school graduates to become second grade reading tutors and to get the opportunity to take two free Georgia State classes. Taking on this huge opportunity with Leap Year helped me gain a free college experience and the opportunity to work with young children, which is something that I enjoy doing and that fits the career field I'm interested in (child psychology). Without a doubt, I always put my best foot forward to make sure all my clients are satisfied and my students will absolutely remember my name.Overall, I’m extremely proud of the challenges I faced and overcame. For here on out, I’m looking forward to putting myself out there more to expand my hair business. Social media has been a big help, but someday I want something much bigger, like a shop. As for school, I’m putting my best foot forward to graduate college with my bachelor’s degree and to become a psychologist in child development. Working with children is something I absolutely desire and want more experience with. My experience taught me to never doubt myself because I see someone else doing better. Instead, I should see what steps I could take to be better.
