About Jordan Polon

I love my job. As the Executive Director of the Hartford Business Improvement District (HBID), I lead initiatives to improve the overall experience in Hartford, CT’s commercial core through programs in public safety, clean streets, placemaking, beautification, events, marketing, and advocacy. Through my work, I've strengthened Hartford’s sense of place, fostering a welcoming, dynamic, and diverse urban environment. I'm an active leader in both local and international urban management communities. A Certified Leader in Place Management through the International Downtown Association (IDA), I'm proud to serve as Vice Chair of the IDA Board of Directors, and to sit on the boards of the iQuilt Partnership and the Hartford Chamber of Commerce. I coined the well-known phrase “Hartford Has It” In the early I was a pyrotechnic supervisor at Six Flags New England and was one of only a handful of women to hold a Massachusetts State Special Effects License.
