I am a statistician/data scientist and also a graduate student working towards my PhD in computing. My research focuses on applying HCC (Human-Centered Computing) methods to understand and improve AML (Anti-Money Laundering) software design. The intent is to provide insight into how to better resolve socio-technical challenges in the AML space. Machine learning technologies are providing new ways to detect financial crimes, but how do people interact with these models? Do interpretable models help AML professionals be more productive?
