About Jordan Simms

Strategic online learning leader and instructional designer with 10+ years improving outcomes for adult learners. Advanced Brightspace practitioner (analytics, conditional release, progress tracking) and first‑in‑institution integrator for MyOpenMath ↔ Brightspace. I chair faculty working groups, mentor peers, and build enablement resources (videos, workshops) so great teaching scales. My approach is data‑informed and human‑centered: I design inclusive learning, streamline digital assessment, and partner across IT, curriculum, and student services to remove friction for learners and faculty. I’ve delivered community‑based programs with Mi’kmaw communities in Nova Scotia and taught in remote northern contexts. The through‑line is equity, clarity, and measurable impact.Focus areas: Instructional Design (ADDIE, backward design) • Learning Analytics • Digital Assessment • Faculty Development • LMS Integrations • Accessibility/UDL • Community‑based and Indigenous education • Microsoft Teams & O365 • Brightspace • MyOpenMath • Articulate 360 (familiar).
