About Jordan Walker Caiola

Do you believe we can live in a world that is unconditionally empathetic to everyone in it? While the path may not be easy, I do believe we can make meaningful strides towards it. And sure, the world may be a lofty goal, but for me it all starts in the communities I am a part of, big or small. LinkedIn is one of those communities, and I'm enthusiastic about connecting with others here to broaden my influences and perspectives on tough topics, especially ones that I have a particularly hard time navigating on my own. Promoting a culture of empathy in the communities we live in is one of those topics.Right now, this has me focused on the thoughts and ideas around the ethics of AI and other novel technologies, including what we can improve as communities to build better tools around them, such as policies, systems, and communications. Tools that focus on how technology can make human lives better without neglecting fairness, well-being, and privacy. I often see a worrying trend in technology of "build fast and ask questions later", usually with the pretense of missing out if you don't.This feeling has grown over the years, and now I have a goal of understanding the issue more deeply. This started with studying the more technical side by learning programming, data architecture, and automation. I still have so much to learn there, but I've unfortunately remained a bit more ignorant about the psychological nuances of this issue, which I am actively trying to rectify.A constant theme I have found is that it is remarkably easier to achieve goals and gain knowledge when I collaborate with others instead of doing it on my own, and I hope to continue that theme here.
