As a new BScN graduate and RN, I am passionate about embarking on a career dedicated to exceptional patient care, particularly in the realms of critical and intensive care. My clinical journey has provided me with a solid foundation in nursing practices and hands-on experience that prepares me for the dynamic challenges of this field. During my time as a Clinical Extern at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital and Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, I had the opportunity to practice a range of clinical skills and learn from experienced nurses. These experiences allowed me to develop a deep understanding of patient care, enhance my clinical judgment, and refine my communication skills. My consolidation experience at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, specifically on the General Surgery floor and in the Surgical Step-Down Unit, further solidified my ability to manage complex cases and provide compassionate, patient-centered care. I embraced the challenges of these units, honing my skills in post-operative care, patient monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. With a strong interest in pursuing a career in critical and intensive care, I am committed to becoming Critical Care Certified. Additionally, I am passionate about wound care and am eager to further my education in this area to enhance my expertise and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
